Weekend with Aiden

We rode the Thomas train, found a SCARY pirate at the Channel Islands Harbor and made a quick trip to the cold and windy beach.  It was a great weekend.

I am so much happier when the weather is warm.  All winter long, all I do is hibernate until the sun comes out again.  Even though it is supposed to be cold again this weekend, at least there will be sunlit hours of the day, and green leaves on the trees, and oh my goodness, today I saw lilacs(!)  blooming along the stretch of Valley Blvd that always blooms first.

We had a great day yesterday, babysitting Lauren and Alex.  Before we went over there, we stopped by the new bagel place in town.  Baks town, not 'Hacahpi town.  It felt a little odd to drive through Oildale...19 years in kern County and it was my first visit...I felt like I should've brought my passport...but this place was worth the drive.  They make the bagels the right way, boil, then bake and Hugh, a fellow participant in my recent months long ordeal, listened to me when I told him about my favorite bagel, the salt bagel.  They have them!  Because I asked for them!  Yum.
